There are three important parts to practice sessions; they are:
Warming Up
Every practice session should start with a warm-up session. The warm-up times should stimulate and prepare the players for an intense session of football. Coaches will need to ensure the practice sessions include low intensity, high-repetitive, fun-filled activities. Every practice session should start with a stretching session, and should be interspersed throughout the practice for older players.
Main Activities
The second part of the practice sessions should focus on the main activity of the game, especially on the technical and tactical development of the players. Coaches should focus on developing the player’s skill by using small-sided games. Start with simple things and move to complex things, while at the same time working on the physical and mental demands of the game.
Finishing Practice
Conclude practice by giving your players the opportunity to play the game with big goals, with an equal number of players on each side. Playing a game will allow the players to execute the tactics and gameplay they learned during the practice session. The experience they gain from using their skills in a proper game will help them develop their playing skills.
